Currently, my team is making a dump robot and we are trying to figure out how to make hinges/joints that can help hold the dump up in starting position, and be able to fold downward into intake action. It also needs to be able to not fall down and let the scoring pieces fall out. I have created one before and about half-way into a test, the bracket fell apart. Does anybody have any ideas or experiences that can help me create a hinge that is useful to our dump?
I uploaded a low quality video I had sitting around of my old locking mechanism. I didn’t exactly invent it, lol. Below the strips, there is a stanchion keeping them from pushing down any more.
And seeing how easy that was, I may upload more videos of stupid robotics things.
