Dumperbot Question

I currently making a dumperbot for my first build of the year. However, there seems to be a little problem. I have a dump made out of standoffs and 1x2 aluminum channels on the side for cube. I currently have only 2 stars to test, so when i pick up the stars, sometimes, the stars get caught in between the standoffs. I am not completely sure, but the standoffs/ prongs are spaced probably 4-6 holes apart. Is there a solution to fixing this problem. Or does it not get stuck as much when 3-4 stars are held at once.

Is the dump as close to the ground as possible?

It is actually sliding across the floor at the moment since i have not made a locking mechanism.

Do you have a backing to allow the stars to slide off the end? This may cause the stars to get caught between the tray and the backing.

Pictures would help immeasurably…
