My team was going to change from a cata to a flywheel, but we can’t get the flex wheels in time for our next competition. What’s the easiest/ simplest shooting mech currently?
Idk about what ti swich too bit were doing the opposite because the fly wheel isant vary constant, just my opinion you do what best fits your robot
Flywheel on a stick. You might try using an anti-static traction wheel if you can’t get the flex wheels in on time. An omni wheel with a ton of rubber bands might even work.
If you’re adamant about doing a flywheel, we used an omni/traction wheel for ours when we didn’t have flex wheels (no the omni wheel did not work well. Traction wheel was mid).
However, I believe the best mechanism is a slappapult, as it is very easy to matchload consistently. Simple in idea, though quite a bit of trial and error.
Ok, good to know. I haven’t the flywheel on a stick with an Omni or traction wheel yet, I was just saying that it could theoretically work. Happy to hear it from someone who’s tried those.
My teammates tried a flywheel with traction wheels when I wasn’t at practice, apparently it doesn’t work so I probably won’t go with a flywheel. Slappapault seems like a decent idea considering my options. Have you seen any crazy resources which led you to believe it was the best? (or one of)
flywheel is usually extremely easy to make, but other than that, slapper.
