so far we have a claw on our robot and I think we are planning to increase the ratio so it runs only 15 rpm but has an imense amount of torque
If anybody wants to communicate of why they chose their method for elevation, I will be fine with that. I love to see the VEX Community’s opinions because they may be helpful in the future.
We are planning to use a short bar to balance on the long barrier.
The simplest climbers are something like EcstaticPilot suggested
Great explanation of the system: https://youtu.be/hlVUvmQHKe8?t=241
They only do a or b tier but they are really fast and super simple.
If done right it can also double as a way to remove the triball from the match load zone in auton. Witch is required for the auton bonus.
If you don’t have pneumatics it can be done with a motor.
If you want to go for something higher I already made some suggestions for that in another post.
It all depends on what you want to do and what gives the most points for time spent. Taking into account what you could be doing instead of climbing.
Testing multiple options is always a good idea, so you can make a well-informed decision.
Hope this helps you decide
No elevation because my team is a IQ team!
We are using two claws on both sides of robot to connect to bar. Then we are using two half motors (or one full motor) to pull our robot up with a string. We are building it later today, but we are pretty sure it will work.
Closing the poll! Thanks for answering
We balance our robot on the elevation bar by using a c channel on the side and then driving our robot onto the bar.
