Anyone have any tool suggestions for slightly stretching holes when needed? Ideally this is hand tool (file). I’m finding some 1/8th inch round files on Amazon, but interested if anyone has any feedback before ordering.
Thanks,
Nick.

drill? (20 characters)
Hand file would be more precise.
This also works, BUT you have to be really careful. And do NOT operate indoors. It’s going to make millions of microscopic aluminum needles. They are small enough to almost float in the air (you could breathe them in, so operate next to the INTAKE of a fan blowing away from you. It’s also got a bad habit of ‘grabbing’ and running across the soft aluminum.
So, yeah, buy a hand file. You could probably get a chainsaw file from a local chainsaw shop.
maybe this if you have a lot to do
Don’t do it. Get the spacing right.
Thanks all - i went with the simple hand file. The precision ones seem to work. There’s 2 holes that I don’t have time to redesign, so going with this.
Thanks,
Nick.
I agree, but sometimes it’s impossible, especially if you want to mount something at an angle.
