We are starting a robotics club with the Vex IQ robots and I want to know if each child needs a notebook or just one for each team. We have 8 teams and 33 kids. 2nd-6th grade. Our first meeting with the kids is tonight.

One per team. If your teams are like most of the ones I’ve worked with, then it will be difficult to get to the kids to start writing on a blank sheet of paper. You might get them to make a drawing, or two, but not enough to tell the story of the robot’s design progression. What works for us is taking pictures, pasting them in the notebook, and then having the kids describe what’s going on in the pic.
