Ergonomic Scruff Mod?

Hi everyone! @Pat.Chet.02 released his ergonomic scruff mod ~2 years ago and I was wondering if anyone was able to get a finalized release of his mod (v2)? If he didnt release a finalized version is there any way I could get the original files to remove certain stuff and add more support? I looked around and i wasnt able to get any information…

Here are the original files:

(it was linked in a post if you scroll further down)

He hasn’t been active for around a year, so I would assume he hasn’t gotten around to it.

Thank you! I’m new to CAD so I was wondering if I can edit the structure of the files (.obj)? We printed this before but the structure for the front grills was very weak so I wanted to beef them up and also remove the whole usb-c extension thing on the bottom.

To edit 3d files you can use pretty much any CAD software common to VEX (with the exception of Protobot) like Onshape, Solidworks, Inventor, etc.

Doing this depends on what software you are using.
I might be able to try to help you or do it for you next week but currently my to-do list is quite swarmed.

Hello, I’ve found some time to edit the files.
What do you mean by front grills, and do you want me to just cover up the usb holes?

Thank you so much for helping! I attached images below of what I wanted to modify on this controller mod. The front grills I circled. I also wanted to remove the entire bottom portion to allow for more space / direct charging to controller using the native micro-usb port.

Sorry for the delay, I’ve been able to remove the big USB thing on the bottom, but since it’s an obj file it’s quite difficult to edit, and the usual obj or gbl to step file converters resulted in onshape struggling to import the parts. I’ve resorted to using tinkercad, which for some reason processes the files better than onshape and solidworks, so it might take some time.

Thank you again, and no worries about the delay, take your time

So far have made some good progress. It’s quite a tight fit (gave my wrists a good workout), still haven’t tested out how the paddles fit (ignore the chipped paddle mount in the second image, I had my supports configured too close to the print).

Used the other scuff mod CAD files to recreate some missing geometry, hence the weird fit.
Here’s the CAD file in case you want to test it (though it may not work) : Onshape
The only things that are edited are the upper and lower clamshells, everything else that hasn’t been modified is under the “non-modified” folder.
