Error.. controller must be updated to latest version

Connected to VEX OS is showing everything up to date and then when I unplug … the brain goes directly to flashing error message stating that controller must be updated.

Here is the most current system report from the brain – it shows that controller doesn’t need updating

I have done a hard reset on the brain and done a force update on the brain with the controller attached and still get the same results… anyone got a fix?

I am having the EXACT same issue. Changed batteries, changed wires, tried various fixes. Same result

@Jamessalvant @Misti_Kemmer ,

This issue has not shown up in any of our testing. We are having trouble trying to reproduce.

The system report looks correct, from what I can see.
Is this happening on more than one brain?

Thanks

I am having the same problem on 2 robots. I have updated everything and restarted everything.

@erinrayj Can you post a system report from the VEXos utility?

Do you have more than 2 IQ systems?
If so are the other working correctly?

Thanks

Had another one do it this morning… Here is what I can figure out… the brain was being programmed on a chromebook and it gave message that brain needed updating. I plugged it into a windows machine to do update and it showed an updated needed for the brain. The VEXos utility completed the update and then when the brain restarted it instantly went into error… controller must be updated to latest version. It was stuck on that screen and would blink and go back to the error.

There was not a remote attached during the update and the project that we are doing is an autonomous project not requiring a remote.

I think what is happening is that the brain is retaining some old data from a previous controller that was hooked up to the brain and when the brain turns on and starts to search for a controller it triggers the error… even though there is not a controller paired to the brain.

Here is the error log

To fix I took the battery out and connected a controller to the brain and then reconnected the brain with controller attached to the VEXos and performed a force update (right click on brain to bring up menu in VEXos) and that solved the issue and the brain is working again with no errors.
