Our team attended attended a tournament this weekend (event code RE-VRC-16-3623). During the tournament, results were not pushed to RobotEvents in real time and were not visible via the RobotEvents website, the Vex Via app on iOS or Android, or VexDB (I assume these all pull data from RobotEvents). Match results were not uploaded until some time today, and I just noticed that the results are now available on RobotEvents (link text) and the Vex Via app. However, I am completely unable to find the tournament on VexDB. The event no longer appears on the VexDB page for our team (it did before results were posted) and loading VexDB | West Virginia 2016 Qualifier: NASA IVV Facility directly returns a 404 error.
I’m not too sure what happened, somewhere along the line the event (I also found a few others that had the same issue) must have disappeared from the list of events I fetch from RobotEvents (whether that was a fault on my side or the RobotEvents side I’m not sure).
It would have fixed itself within 6 hours anyway (the time it searches for new events), but I just manually re-ran the search and it seems to be okay now.
I’m leaning towards this being an issue with RobotEvents, Google has been complaining that event pages it has links to (or used to work) are returning 404s when it tries to crawl the website.
All of these events look to be from this year around the January/February time. I don’t know if it’s common for EPs to delete their own events from Robot Events but I’ve personally never seen any complaints from Google about event pages before. If someone from RECF reads this it would be useful to know what’s going on.
Sorry to drag this thread back up, but an event took place this weekend after initially being scheduled for Jan. 23rd, and being postponed due to “snowzilla,” in the words of the event partner. However the page on vexDB does not display results, and still shows old dates etc.
Thanks for running VexDB; it’s so much better than the RobotEvents site for viewing and analyzing tournament results and I use it all the time.
