So, the end of 2020 is almost here. Can’t say I’m sorry to see it go. As a buddy of mine in my carpool once said in 2019, “I can’t wait for 2020, It seems like such a nice year.” Man, was he Wrong!
Anyways, what were the notable events of 2020, vex related, robotics related, or otherwise?
uh grant did NOT change his middle name to DRow
Necessity is the mother of invention
I think the concept and implementation of VRC Live Remote Tournaments is pretty impressive. Teams from around the world can now compete with each other. Will this change the future of robotics competition?
remote tournaments are the stupidest things to ever happen to vex
On New Years Eve, one of my friends said in a call, “No one cares about 2020 shut up.” Boy did that come back to bite him. Anyways, I’d say worlds being canceled was pretty notable, as well as a potential vaccine!
FTFY.
I would say that @DRow had a pretty notable event! I don’t think I’ve ever seen triple digit likes on the forum before!
My FRC team travelled three hours away to a competition, stayed a night in a hotel, woke up for practice day, and then got informed that the competition had been canceled. Our season ended early, but we were lucky to get to go to an event at all (that would have been our second one).
Also, running online events for VEX IQ is one of my highlights of the month. I won’t be forgetting the [horror] story of online school anytime soon. My school went online on March 13th, which happened to be a Friday the 13th.
One of my teachers made this
I think this is an appropriate round up of this year
Let’s just point out that nothing good has happened since Cats got to theatres, except for Cats being removed from theatres.
That fool is testing the very forces of the future itself! It’s too dangerous to be left alive!!!
quickswap got banned rip, at least before q&a results come out
They’re now legal again
They were never illegal. Just thought to be
They were legal and shown to be legal multiple seasons. This includes quickswap during the Cortex era.
Yeah I know. Some hypothesized that the rules modification changed that
