Favorite Submissions: Online Challenges

So after last years Online Challenges were over, I noticed the lack of votes on even the winning submissions by the VEX community. One part of the struggle to get votes is the fact that there are so many submissions to go through to find the good ones. This thread is for your favorite submissions from any of the challenges.

To be clear, this thread was not made to put down any teams, but rather to highlight the submissions that stood out to you in a good way. Also if your team had a submission, this isnt a thread to promote it, but to compliment other teams on their submissions.

I’ll start it off with a promote video that I really enjoyed here: http://challenges.robotevents.com/challenge/63/entry/3481 and the link to the video directly, here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64yfw10zeYc&feature=youtu.be

I have my eyes mostly on Make It Real CAD Challenges and here are the ones I like in my opinion:

(How do you add a video to post again?)

Voting has now opened! Time to look through all the entries.

For the actual game, this is my favorite. It was presented fairly poorly though :frowning:
I don’t get what the deal is with all the sea urchins with all the games though. It must have been all that talk about a water game last year

Yeah, i feel that one in particular wouldve been 100× better without the spikes on the playing objects

So what does the voting do? Is every submission judged or is it based on votes and then the top ones are judged?
I am just curious. But my kids had a great time this year and got a ton of them submitted. I am proud of the 7536 family.

There are two rounds of judging. The first round is judged *partially *based on votes. The second round entirely ignores votes.

(If my understanding is correct)

The way I understand it is that the entries are judged based on the specifications and judging criteria as stated in each challenge, and the votes are just a tie-breaker.

I’ve been watching the girl powered submissions - so far, these 2 were the funniest and most story-like:
200C : http://challenges.robotevents.com/challenge/72/entry/3833
88 : http://challenges.robotevents.com/challenge/72/entry/4098

Wow, I gotta say both girl powered submissions were very fun to read. I love their creativity and drawings! Kudos 200C and 88.

Yeah, doing sea urchins would just result in a lot of claws again and i imagine Vex would like to see some different designs every year.

Ok, seriously guys, sea urchins hoops and tetrahedrons, is there no other shapes we can use?

Wait a minute, this sounds familiar

In the Make it Real CAD Challenge, these were my favorite entries.

Actually the challenge rules this year stated that the game objects must include urchins, hoops, or tetrahedrons (pyramids). My favorite entry was Ring Rumble. Great game, great presentation. Earned my vote without a doubt.

I liked those ones, but but I feel like the slipgears and would break.

Aw, thanks guys :3 Team 88’s is really cute!
My personal favourite is 7110C Powered Up! (http://challenges.robotevents.com/challenge/72/entry/3624)

@SA200 Yeah! More drawings!! I like that one as well. I’m glad they did a challenge like that which is different from the others.

I’ve been through most of the entries so far, and you are right - there are very few hand drawn ones. BTW, is there a ranking feature? I have no idea which entries are the most popular.

I believe there’s no such feature. But I’m sure that in a couple weeks, they will release the top ten (or something like that).

This one is hand-drawn. http://challenges.robotevents.com/challenge/72/entry/4064
