Feedback on our digital notebook

Ok! So this is our first year actually indulging in our design notebook. Pretend you are the judge and are looking at one of my teams notebook entries. What would you say we could do better on. Etc. (better photos, clarity, add/subtract content).

This is only a sample from one of our entries. Any opinions accepted and are encouraged!

I would say it’s a great start! Keep up the great work!

I do have some advice for your engineering notebook. For clarity, I would recommend explaining the format of your engineering notebook and how you are keeping it organized. Then I would get to explaining the game/game analysis. I would also recommend after that to list your team’s goals for the season afterwards. After providing this background information, I think it can provide the reader with getting a stronger understanding of the season and your team’s approach to what is being done to achieve goals and to strive for success. Also, it’s never a bad idea to provide image/document captions of anything that’s being attached to the notebook! It gives the reader an idea of what the image is all about.

Those are just some starting points and recommendations that I have, but the engineering notebook should be completed to benefit your team. What would help to organize your documentation the most? After determining that, you could then think of this: what would help someone who is maybe not participating in VEX Robotics understand what is going on with your team’s progress?

I would also recommend searching VEX Forum and watching videos of notebook explanations from teams that have kindly taken the time to share their notebooks with us. Those can spark a lot of inspiration when it comes down to organization!

Do you have a teacher or some adult that is helping you get parts? if so u could ask them to grade it as an english teach would. Our teacher did this for us and it helped out to see where in the rubric did we make mistakes. it also helps to have another team member hear you say this to them (its makes it easier to understand where grammar can be fixed)
