Field Breaking after one Event

After one event of 50 teams we have noticed that there is a ton of different ways for the field to break during normal game play. Corner connectors of goals due to being so thin just snapping off, Barriers breaking during match play of robots driving into them. The sleeve of the net just completely disintegrate. I have contacted Vex about replacements and the answer I received was “we cannot guarantee replacements but you can buy another field set”

We are considering machining some of the corner brackets to make it stronger since we have 4 more events to host this season, 3d printing some of the t brackets to support the barrier. As well as putting duct tape on the goal sleeve to give it some lasting potential.

This seems like some extreme damage for one event - of course, metal robots roaming about smashing each other into the walls and field elements will do that to plastic.

I doubt anyone would care if you machine and 3d print some of the parts, so long as they fit the size tolerances in the manual.

VEX saying something like that after one event, especially when a field set is $575, seems kinda disrespectful…
