We bought a new field and anti-static tiles in May of 2023. Our tiles seems to have grown in size and no longer fit well within the field perimeter. Does anyone know a remedy to this? Is shaving tiles down legal?

how does it grow, wouldn’t it compress after driving over it for a while?

I might not have explained it well. Basically our tiles are now wider than the field perimeter. We are not sure why this is happening, and trying to solve the problem. Thanks!

Are the velcro straps that tension the walls too tight? If you tighten them too much, the walls buckle inwards and the foam tiles can pucker (or bubble up).
The plastic walls flex quite a bit and impacts at the neutral wall stakes will make you think the straps need to be tightened more than they should be.
If you can do it comfortably, squeeze them in. You can always cut the tabs but I wouldn’t recommend that anymore.

portable field or metal?
Could you show a picture of one of the tiles, from the top and side?
If your room is too humid, they sometimes expand. I suggest drying them and if it doesnt work I dont know what to do. Im quite new to VEX but other mats from other robotics do the same thing.
