Flexing Cube Intake

Hello. We are Team 6089, The Infinities.

We recently ran into the issue that our cube intake was interfering with our skyrise intake, because one is mounted directly above the other.

The cube intake would get stuck on the autoloader when raising our arm after picking up the skyrise piece. To fix this, we designed a cube intake that would be able to flex downward.

Both of these intakes are passive (i.e. they don’t require any motors or actuators).

Because this is somewhat difficult to visualize, we have made a video regarding its design.

Good ideas! :slight_smile: I am wondering how much cubes can your intake hold?

At the moment, it can only hold one cube, but we hope to increase that in the future.

At some point, we do plan to make a video of our intake on the robot itself (maybe in November), but for now, we have the video that was referred to in the original post.
