Hi, we are using a flywheel for shooting goals. We plan to use pneumatics to change the angle of the flywheel. We notice that when we change the angle of the flywheel to aim it at the high goal, the speed seems to slow down. When we lower the flywheel to a neutral position and shoot into the low goal, the speed goes back up. I don’t have actual velocity numbers, but the sound is definitely different and it looks like it is not spinning as fast when it is angled up. Does anyone know what that happens? The battery is > 90%.

Please provide pictures of the flywheel. That way, we will be able to see if the flywheel is experiencing issues like friction.
in the vex coding app do you have the velocity and torque set to 100 percent?
My team used to have a flywheel robot. We also had that problem. We thought that the solenoid for the pneumatics was using a lot of power to make the cylinders go up, because of the weight of the flywheels, so the flywheels slow down. This might also be your problem.
Also the brains power out put is so high that when using a lot of motors (and pumps) the out put is not enough so you will get inconsistent speeds
