Flywheel speed and motor Speed

we used 2 fly wheel for triball launching, but it comes that the motor has only 160 RPM and can’t go qiucker. any Idea on how we coild make it reach it s 200 RPM

Maybe use a 600 RPM motor for the flywheel, you can also gear it down because it’s faster, it should work better

The motor itself?

Have you tried:
MotorName.setVelocity(100, percent);

Also, make sure you’re using a green cartridge and that you declared thay in your configuration.

Yes, The velocity is set at 100% and the ratio is set 18:1
and we tried 2 motors with green cartridge, and still having the same issue

try looking for a bent axle or use lube to reduce friction also look in the experto code if your using it for and also set torque to 100% and if all fails new port

Are your chains to tight? We were having problems with ours and we de-tensioned the chain and we got it from 10 watts of friction to 1 ish watts of friction.j

Yeah, adding on to @JoBro and @Wesley13406D , this meqns it is probably a mechanical issue. Could we have a picture of your flywheel setup? Also, like @Penguin1 said, a 600 rpm motor is best for flywheels as it reduces the amount of gears, and hence friction, involved.
Before you post your picture though, try removing the motor and then spinning each axle individually to see where the problem child is.

oh great you were right the hain was too tight, thank you

Ya welcome. Glad I could help.

I found the perfect gear ratio for flywheels is 1 to 4. I got that from using 24 to 6 and i use 11 watts with a blue cartage for 2400 Rmp. For a flywheel that has good speed but doesn’t need time to spin up after every match load 2400 to 2000 are both really good options.

We are going with 3000 rpm since we are trying to get really good grouping and hopefully having them land right by the goal.

Not sure how you have this setup but using gears rather than chain is usually better. One of my teams is using a 600 RPM insert to a 12 tooth gear and that turns a 60 tooth gear. The whole setup is very small and light. They started testing it today and it looks like they can load as fast as they can and still getting the triballs where they want them.

… That’s 120 rpm. I’m assuming it’s the other way around, which is a much more reasonable speed of 3000 rpm. May I ask what size flex wheel they’re using?

You are correct. It is the other way around. That is what happens when you try to post something with very little sleep and a lot of pain. lol.

Thank you for the correction.

3000 RPM is really good too because we make it under the goal about a quarter of the time
