For how long will 30T Sprockets be out of stock?

I’m trying to buy some 30T HS bore sprockets but they appear to be out of stock.

Does anyone at VEX know how long these will be out of stock for? I’m in need of some.

Looked like your homemade hs sprockets were fine. Why buy more?

Did I miss something interesting?

Homemade, presumably, laser cut HS sprockets sounds intriguing…

You can make them in non-circular shapes for some really interesting applications.

You can shape them to “linearalize” the load on the motor for the lifts, in addition to gravity assisting rubber bands.

Or, conversely, you can increase force or speed in certain parts of continuous cycle:

For example, you can have front intakes with “Strong” and “Fast” sides that will mostly run fast but will be able to push trough objects with force if necessary.

I posted it in the VTOW server. I used a mill to take out the center of some LS bore sprockets then sandwiched it with some HS lock bars from Robosource.

If I had done this better, the lock bar would not have been necessary.

that’s a really intriguing application of these kinds of gears I’d never thought about before. would be difficult to justify for a game this easy, but I could see it being potentially viable for games like itz or skyrise where really efficient lifts were important.

Yes, yet another good reason to allow 3D printing for the 2021-22 season.

As Taran showed that’s what I was jokingly referring to. Obviously those are from from ideal high quality sprockets, but could technically work in a short term pinch
