Our team I call level balance meters

64 rubber bands are extra THICC bands

We call keps nuts kep nuts and allen keys are called skinny and dummy thicc

My senior team calls the wrenches the Allen keys and the Allen keys the wrenches originally as a joke to confuse our sister teams. The problem with this is that now all of our sister teams actually believe that the Allen keys are called wrenches and all the wrenches are called Allen keys.

i can imagine yals sister teams asking other teams if they can borrow an allen key and they give them allen key and they start to argue that is an allen key

That’s exactly what happens when we go to the competition, and the best part is that it also happens when other teams asks us to borrow allen keys and wrenches.

that is so funny. i mean i hope one of them aint a mechanic soon cause i hate for them to not know a wrench is a wrench and be working on my car

Basically anything is a boi if you say it enough. A wheelie boi. A shafty boi. A geary boi.

we have this rubber piece that holds a lot of screw bits, and it looks like a meat tenderizer, so now every one just calls it by that.

Sprockets are known as “Not-gears” after a mistake that was made 3 years ago

We have a singular nut driver that we refer to as OP wrench. Because it is OP.
Edit: Also I have a troubling tendency to call every vex tool a wrench

Our nicknames are left over from when the team was brand new, and some have stuck. Our first team captain had done some robotics in middle school, so everyone thought he knew what he was doing since no one else had any experience. It turned out that he really didn’t know much, but pretended he did. He called shaft collars “collar bones” (not as a joke, he actually thought that’s what they were called) and everyone believed him. It took me years to get the kids to stop calling them that.

A few others that we still have are tin snips are called overkill cutters (or just overkill for short), Allen wrenches are L keys and keps nuts are star nuts, but I think both of those are pretty common,

long axle=long boi, high strength axle =thicc boi, and Allen wrenches are called Allens (we talk about them like they are people) "come on allen " when they strip or slip

I just call everything “thing” because I am the coder, and know what nothing is. Occasionally I’ll say C-channel.
