fun with friction...

Hello again everybody…

I was doing some calculations for my team’s drivetrain, trying to see if I could squeeze any extra speed out of the gear ratios. I have the values for everything I need (motor torque, robot mass, wheel size, the works) to get plugged into my formula and spit out a gear ratio. I don’t have a value for the coefficient of friction, though. I could calculate this myself, but I would need a piece of the rubber mat (my robot’s at home, and the field is in a locked room at school, so I can’t get it). I couldn’t find a value online.

The question is this…

Does anyone have a value for the coefficient of friction between omni directional wheels and the playing field?

Your help is much appreciated!

I found it here, thanks for your help! I guess I missed this thread on my first sweep (facepalm).
