Funny thing that happened at my latest competition (Misc)

This happened on the match of 30… My alliance was killed by a DRIVETRAIN…

As the saying goes, don’t judge a book by its cover.

Can we bring this side of the forums back, where we have some casual fun posting stuff like this?

No, the signal to noise ratio on the forum is bad enough already with new members asking the same questions almost every day it seems.

Then may I kindly request why this was allowed through, then? If this is to stay a strict question/answer platform, then this shouldn’t have passed through moderator review.

My choice I guess.

Ah, I see. Thank you for the honesty.

Yeah, good lesson kids:

Don’t put your battery on the outside where it is easily unplugged (that’s why a lot of bots have their brains and batteries in between their drivetrain).

All that stuff has since been moved to the VRC discord servers (VTOW, VCAD, Robot NBers, Alliance servers, etc.) sadly.

That’s partially why the topic was approved.

The thought process when approving border line topics goes something like this.

Is it related to VEX robotics, we have no interest in topics discussing non-vex subject matter.

Who is posting, is it a new member, has the member contributed to other discussions. In this case @anoxicpaws has contributed to other topics with useful answers, so they get some leeway.

Is the topic likely to generate some other discussion, in this case there might have been some discussion about whether that should have been a DQ for entanglement or, as @Gigahertz.t mentioned, improving the robot by protecting the battery.

There are other factors, but it’s not a blanket rule that moderators will just reject a topic because it is not a serious question.
