Is the intent of G14 to allow teams to repair a robot that has issues not caused by interaction with the field, game elements or the other robot? i.e. a mechanical, electrical, etc issue that was present when the robot was placed on the field even if unnoticed by the team. It seems to me that R16 would prohibit that kind of repair.
<G14> does allow for Drivers to “fix damaged robots”. In general it’s very difficult for referees to determine what caused damage. As such we allows teams to repair any type of damage, whether the issue was present prior to or was caused during the Match. What teams are not allowed to do is introduce new parts to their Robot during the Match.
