So… We’re still at World’s, and we don’t have a Gateway questionnaire site, so I’ll post it here…
With human interaction, there are many questions that come to mind, but one in particular is most pressing…
Is it legal to swap out entire components on the robot? (I believe the previous ruling was that entire robots could be changed, with the exception of the microcontroller system and drive system.) So does this still stand? Could I change components on my robot during the competition?
Also, can only the blue alliance raise the blue gate? Could a red alliance ROBOT raise the blue gate?
And what about flying? If a robot can lift itself off the ground, can it then pass into the opposing alliance’s isolation area without the gate being lifted? Does that area have an invisible walls projected on all four sides?
Following on that, what if a robot has a really long arm? Are they allowed to reach into the isolation areas of an opposing alliance?
And finally, is there a ruling against descoring? What about throwing game pieces outside the field?
Maybe I should have waited until the manual was released, but I just wanted to throw a couple questions out there…
