Gear ratios and number of motors

Hello everyone!
I was searching the web today and found a match on YouTube with a similar design to what my team was thinking of building.

It is the robot on the red aliance closest to the camera. I was curious because my team was thinking of a six motor lift with a 7-1 gear ratio but on this robot it appears to have a 4 motor lift with a 7-1 gear ratio too and a lot more speed than anything else I have seen. Do you think it has two motors hidden between the center of the towers or is the gear ratio different than what i thought it was, possibly a 5-1?

It could simply be rubber band/elastic assisted thats all.

I agree with @meng that its likely elastics. That video is also a great example of how important driving is in game play. The blue driver counters the bot you are looking to emulate very well.
