Gen 1 VEX IQ Controller Hard Reset?

Is there a way to do a reset of a Gen 1 VEX IQ Controller?

The issue is that when the joystick is moved left or right the robot moves forward and back.
When the joystick is moved forward and back the robot moves left and right.

This happens both in student programmed with VEXcode IQ and with the factory Driver program.

I have already reset the brain and reloaded the current OS.

What kind of robot and where are the motors plugged into? The gen 1 brain in the drive, settings menu lets you pick different mapping to joystick. That is really limited with the built in drive.

I recommend getting tank drive to work first and then move to the next types of drives. Post pics and the screen shots for more help.

Oh and it’s the two motor base robot. Steps 1-19.

I’ll try to get some pics tomorrow. It’s the strangest thing. Tank drive does the same thing. No response to A and D axes but B and C move the motors forward and backward. I have taught and coached with VEX IQ for years and this has never happened before.

I had a bad plug on a controller. I moved the port over one, reset the driverrain in Vex and all worked. Might be worth a try.

The trouble shooting, I did was I ran the motor manually using the sensor menu or something like that. When the motor did not spin in port 6, I moved it to port 5 and rebooted and it all worked. Labeled the port bad on the brain and use it as a spare.
