Hey all, it’s been a few months since I’ve been on.

The functionality I’m talking about is being able to create sketches and edit certain parameters (i.e. the angle in above picture) and have the rest of the model react and have the same non-driven dimensions.
I haven’t been able to find anything definite, does anybody know of any good software?
AutoCAD LT might be good for you.

I’m not sure if this program has your desired functionality, but I think you might find some use in it. Plus, its indie!
Linkage was kinda sorta what I was looking for, but not exactly. Regardless, I like it for demonstration purposes and I’ll continue to use it.
I did however find AutoCAD Mechanical, which is pretty much Inventor sketch mode, minus Inventor. I don’t know how I didn’t figure this one out earlier, but if anyone ever stumbles upon this thread: this is probably what you want. It’s available for free for students @ students.autodesk.com
I’m sure AutoCAD LT has the same functionality, but I don’t have nearly a grand to toss around 
I realize you’ve found a solution but I’d just like to add my 2 cents.
You’re pretty much looking for a 2D CAD program (that’s what the sketch mode IS.) AutoCAD would be the AutoDesk version of this but it’s a tad pricey. You may want to take a look at a free alternative like LibreCAD (which I’ve never actually used.)
Almost everyone here should qualify for the Autodesk Educational Portal which has a huge list of free software, many of which are applicable in this case…
