You could get invited to Worlds from a qualifiying award to Worlds, or you can go onto the waitlist, which is random.
I’m not sure why you would think it’s random. It’s all outlined in the VEX Qualifying Criteria: https://kb.roboticseducation.org/hc/en-us/articles/5474199602071-Qualifying-Criteria-for-VIQRC-VRC-and-VEX-U-Events
Your region will be sending a certain number of teams to Worlds based on the awards they won at state. You can read it all in that document.
Nope
My team prob won’t get invited. Our skills score is 240 and our state championship will have some stiff competition. Worlds isn’t everything though, and I am proud of how far my team has come.
