A picture or video would help, our intake was 1:1 turbo, and never pushed away any balls. In fact, it got balls to the flywheel very quickly (2-3 seconds). Also, how wide is your intake? If its only 1 or 2 balls wide, it would explain why it pushes balls away.

If balls are getting stuck or clumping behind of your front roller at the funnel, you could make one side much more convex than the other (if you use plastic). This way one side would travel faster than the other and you’d much more streamlined feeding of balls into the chain.
