Goals clamping down on change up balls

quite frankly, i’d much rather there be 0 tolerances. yet as we are all well aware, this is quite infeasible

there’s really not a whole lot more to be said in this area, because as xenon said, there’s not anything inherently morally improper about setting vex robotics competition goals a little high lol (assuming they’re still in spec)

There is, if you are doing it purposefully to gain an advantage compared to all the other teams that are setting up to the field specs. EPs/referees will be permitted to ask the goals be adjusted if the field seems incorrectly set up.

OK to play devil’s advocate here, but in practice, you can be sure the EP’s focus is on giving a good experience for all teams.

if it’s in spec and they still don’t like it, that’s on vex, not me
how is it an unfair advantage if every team can take advantage of it…? how does luck play into this? are teams who (by chance) get goals that are within spec but a little higher than others not deserving of a win? as was said earlier, unless every ep (not just you) intends to micro manage every single goal at every single comp after every single match, there’s really no argument to be had here. there’s nothing wrong on the teams’ part if everything is still in spec. i suppose this is where we fundamentally disagree

Someone already asked:
https://www.robotevents.com/VRC/2020-2021/QA/638

Short version: The two bottom rings must not have any vertical gap smaller than 6.13" nor larger than 6.63"

I think someone already asked basically that question on the Q&A:

https://www.robotevents.com/VRC/2020-2021/QA/633

Short version, no it is not allowed.

To me it seems more of a slight design flaw rather than a intended purpose

Whaddya gonna do
