62a was a great team in Vex history. Their skyrise robot was amazing, just like the rest of their robots.

Well, since you mentioned team 62, it is mandatory to link to @Cameron_Schiller’s Skyrise 32pt autonomous:
Transmission that powered it was pushing the hardware to the limit.
I love all the disruptive concept reveals he did over the years, but I still hold a grudge against his notorious Schlucas design.
Large portion of the ITZ season my team wasted productively spent learning inverse and forward kinematics trying to get their “Schlucas” to work. 
They ended up ditching Schlucas and rebuilding to the meta DR4B literally 3 days before the Worlds.

One of my favorite VEX robots of all times is Starstruck robot from WPI1:
It may not have been as high performing as the eventual VEXU Worlds Champion AURA but I find it very impressive that fully autonomous robot could play against the real human competitors:
Divided field for the Starstruck was perfect for trying out completely autonomous robot. I am looking forward for the time when such robots could play on the open field.
