Good gear ratio?

Hi so our robot is designed to carry 3 mobile goals and the issue is that were thinking that our 4 motor direct drive wont be suited to drive with 3 mobile goals and we would like suggestions on what a good gear ratio for our drive train would be? ( 4m 200rpm)

I assume the issue is the weight of the mogos, however 4m 200rpm should be able to handle that easily. If you’re really having trouble, try cutting weight from your robot where you can.

This could also depend on the wheels you’re using. Omni’s will help with traction and turning far more than standards. If you’re already using them the next stop is friction management and making sure not of your wheel shafts turn harder than they should. Next, I would ensure that if needed you have your motors set to max torque 100. I’m not sure if that’s needed on the new programs, but I know it is in VCS (yes, I know, a crime to even mention it) Finally, after all of that, if you’re still having issues, I would consider an external gear ratio such as 3:5 for torque or just going to red cartridges.

Instead of doing this, better solution would be to go 200 on 3.25 omnis instead of 4

4m 200 should be more than enough to carry 3 mogos up the platform
