Grant Money Available for New Texas VEX Robotics Competition Teams

We have some great news to share!

The Texas Workforce Commission has approved funding to put robotics education programs with a competitive focus into more Texas classrooms. The VEX Robotics Competition qualifies for this grant.

The funds available will be limited to new teams in grades 9-12 and must go towards paying registration costs/license fees and materials or kit costs to construct robots.

(Note: Schools with existing teams may apply as long as the funding received goes towards starting a new VEX Team.)

Applying for this grant is a two-step process.

Here is how to get started on applying for this funding:

  1. Have a teacher or school official go to http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/WXJ2BZQ and complete the brief Request for Information (RFI) questions by 5:00 p.m. on March 31. Make sure to choose yes on question 10 and name the VEX Robotics Competition on question 11.

  2. Once you complete the RFI you will be put into the system to receive more information on submitting a proposal for the grant.

  3. When the Request for Proposals (RFP) is distributed, look for more information to assist in the process of applying for grant money.

Those that submit the RFI gain 5 bonus points on their scoring of their grant application.

For more information on the grant, contact Marisela Ramirez at the Texas Workforce Commission - [EMAIL=“[email protected]”][email protected]

Don’t miss out on this opportunity! Please pass this information along to anyone that would benefit from it.
