Grease

To my understanding using approved lubricants inside a motor is legal and it can enhance performance of old motors and decrease the excessive noise most motors make.

I am pretty sure this is legal.

Yes it is legal, we almost filled our motors with white lithium grease last year

It will help lubricate the gears so that friction is not a big factor inside the motor. We used too much then paid the price when we changed internal gearing (messy), but the lithium grease will definitely reduce strain on the motor when it is running with no load. Therefore, utilizing all available torque, albeit, the torque lost through friction is minimal and not really worth the effort.

I would only do it if, for example, you cleaned your gears or they have no grease on them, then I would apply a small amount.
