I’m sure a lot of you can relate to this, but Vex has given me a hobby and a great group of friends for the last five years, and I’ve learned through Vex that I want to be a mechanical engineer. This might sound cheesy, but the best day of my life was a robotics competition. Having the World Skills Ranking and Bo3 back would be great, but for most of us that’s just the icing on the cake. And this program is a pretty awesome cake
I’m thankful for all the friends I have made through VEX, for the opportunities I’ve gotten to experience what it’s like to compete as part of a team (as both a student and a coach), and for being able to learn more about STEM, strategy, and teamwork myself, and help others learn more about these things, too.
I’m thankful for a great community like this, through the VexForum and Discord, where people with similar interests can talk and collaborate about a robotics program they enjoy! I’m also thankful for a GDC and REC Foundation who (while we may not always agree with them) make decisions with their participants and growth of a STEM community in mind. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
