Just so you know its in VEXcode VR.
VEXcode VR Blocks Neural Network Attempt.vrblocks (138.8 KB)
It doesn’t really accomplish anything because I haven’t adjusted any weights or biases nor do I have the time to, so it was more of a testbed to see if this kind of thing was even theoretically possible, which it turn out it might be.
How are you going to save data between runs? I don’t think vexcode VR can export the retrained weights/biases or information to a high enough resolution to train a model.
But multiple posts with the same content are okay?
Anyways,
It is/can be text. right? Print onto the side window thingy and copy paste into something else to save data.
Not really, sometimes we reject, sometimes not, all depends on how busy we are.
A resource was asked for and one was provided. If you’re worried about how long it would take to learn C++ directly from the resource, be aware of the fact that it sections the learning into little chunks, from which the learner can pick out the ones they want.
It would be quite time consuming given the absurd amount of training runs needed to tune your AI model. However, it should still work, so with enough time on one’s hands it could be feasible, but just barely.
Ive been asking you guys that. Also, I’m probably not going to actually use VEXcode VR for training because the AI needs to be able to go against people. I might use VEXcode VR for training a bit but not for anything meaningful mainly just testing if the code can even do anything.
So, I need to use some sort of digital field system for training & testing, and the only available resource for that is VEXcode VR. I also need to make the AI in text code because making an AI in blocks that has enough neurons to do anything usefull and that doesnt just have a siezure is almost certainly impossible. But, VEXcode VR’s text code is only python & locked behind a paywall, which is a problem because 1. I’m broke. 2. the AI code i do have is C++. So because of that ive been wondering if it would be worth it to open up unity for the first time to create my own version of VEXcode VR but with all the features of VEXcode V5 completely for free. But I would like you guys’s advice on this. First question, do yall think this would even be worth the effort? like coding this would be alot of effort that I’m not sure would be worth it for a project that may not even work in the first place. Second question, if I did do this should I post it on here for others to use. Last question, if I did post it on here do yall think VEX would try to sue me.
This isn’t related to the topic but I do have a question for you. Do you get paid for being a VEXforum moderator? or is it more of a volunteering thing?
It is theoretically possible to code an AI or neural network for the VEX V5 Brain. I’ve never seen anyone do it, but that may be because of the difficulty of accomplishing such a great coding feat. I do however, know that it IS possible to code AI responses, like a program that uses sensors to auto-align itself, or un-jam rings that get stuck in the intake. If you manage to get something working, please give me an update, as I would love to expand on my existing programs.
This is something I personally do not see the useful point in for regular V5RC, however VEXAI is quite literally supposed to be exactly what you are trying to do, so if you did go down that path, maybe try that.
Again, personal choice for you, but if you did get a truly good AI running for Vex, I’m sure many people would love to see it, and the whole Unity thing sounds super cool.
No, Vex would most definitely not sue you. There are already Unity based vex sims like the AdiSim and XRC, and they have not been used.
He is a Vex employee. He undoubtedly gets paid to do his job, and this is likeley part of his job. I am 100% sure his job is more than just moderation.
I thought moderators were volunteers, not paid, who are also VEX employees
Love the VEX Community… but…
I wouldn’t be moderating this site if I didn’t get paid to work here ![]()
What I meant about the posting it part wasn’t posting the AI but posting the simulation not the AI.
I can understand that.
Also, does anybody know if something like what I was talking about with the simulation has been done before? I’m not talking about VEXcode VR because that doesn’t have C++ & the text coding is locked behind a $200 paywall which I cant afford because i’m
broke & dont have a job.
I already told you about XRC. If you truly have the skill to create an AI, a script to translate C++ into inputs for XRC would be super easy to make. XRC is free, and has a huge support group on discord.
I’m bored so now I’m going to try & replicate the C++ neural network code I have in blocks and see if it works.
If you have a team registered you can put your team no. into the class code slot and another code that you can get from your registration and get text for the current game’s skills field.
About… simulation to test your AI algorithm?
If yes, then I didn’t do anything up to that level, the closest I did was like decades ago when I did a simulator (with visual of the movement) using Visual C++ for my micromouse maze-solving algorithms (that was done in assembly language).
But I am sure nowadays there should be easier ways to get the simulator up and running.
And also, there are lots of programming geniuses lurking in the forum. Just depends on if there are anything that will enthuse them enough to reply ![]()
