Does anyone know why my motor that I got in the Vex Starter Kit will not turn a full 360 degrees? The motor has a clutch on it. I tried to directly put the shaft into the motor (without the clutch) and that did not work!
WHY:confused:

Are you sure it’s a motor not a servo?
I’m thinking its a servo too. look on the back of it and read what it says, does it say Servo Module or Motor Module. The Motor Module turn 360 degrees. And the Servo only turns (I believe) 35 degrees. If it is the motor, then you may need to call or email the people at VEXLabs or whereever you got your kit from and ask for a replacement part. You can also order another motor for 19.95 from VEXLabs. Hope this helps.
Uh…35 degrees, I think it is around one hundred degrees…
Yeah its way more than 35 degrees. It has 60 degrees of rotation each way (left/right). If you tried swapping the top of a servo case onto a motor it may produce the same results because there is a molded plastic stop in the case. Has it been sujected to extreme load or srtess?
Did I type 35 degrees? That was a typo I actually ment 45 degrees, but I guess that was off too.
Have you tried a different 1 just to make sure nothing is wrong with that particular motor?
