HELP! New Computers and Laptops Needed!?

My boss gave me a $5,000 budget to get new Computers or laptops for my 6 middle school and 1 high school Teams.

I need the students to be able to do all the basics with VEX and FLL and then I’d like to be able to do CAD, C++, etc…

I want my students to be able to say, “HEY MISS S. I want to learn more… and I’m like… LETS DO IT!” and the computers can handle it.

I prefer direct answers with links on what to buy. nothing fancy and shiny just performance wise id like it to handle the load.

Thank you in Advance :penguin::pray:

Does it matter Windows or Mac? And do you need keyboard, mice, and monitors, or do you already have those?

What ever you decide, check out refurbished computers. I recently bought 10 Lenovo touchscreen laptops for $200 each, they listed at over $800. https://discountelectronics.com/

Often have Lenovo or Dell deals.

I don’t need accessories, and it doesn’t matter mac or windows. Whichever can handle OnShape, C++, python, Vexcode etc.

I just need to be able to purchase 8 Laptops for my VEX teams?

If I have left over money maybe 5 tablets for my FLL teams?

My middle school had a ThinkPad for every team, and they worked quite well for robotics and general educational computer activities. This is a site with marked-down Lenovo laptops

And this is one that looks promising. It has more than the minimum requirements to use AutoCAD, and each laptop is about $50 cheaper than the maximum cost.

Some people don’t like ThinkPads, but in my experience they work very well for robotics programming, and CAD.

I like Lenovo and Dell. These 15" Dells will work out well. Dell Precision 3510 Quad Core 16GB AMD FirePro 15.6" Mobile Workstation Laptop - Discount Electronics. They are under $400 each. I like the large screen, easier to have 2 programmers at the same time.

Do you want tablets or touchscreen PCs or tablets that you can use a keyboard with?
