My VEX IQ team has been struggling with auton because of alignment. The rules require our robot to start against the wall, which we can do and turn back to score (we have a double catapult so we pick up two balls - one is a preload and we put one in the intake once the match starts), but it does not align and shoots way off the goal wall. We built alingners but they barely help.
I have seen some teams with a bar that extends to the wall so that they can start in the middle. If we had this, this would solve all our problems. However, I am confused on how to build one and how to motorize it. If someone could give some examples of these bars and how to motorize it, it would be very helpful to us.
Second, we are not sure how to score 12+ balls in driver. Our drivers are doing their best, but our robot is not fast enough and is kinda big. We probably don’t have time to rebuild before the next competition, so does anyone know any way to score about 16 - 20 balls with a basic double cata bot? Would it involve the intake on the back of a bot?
