Help with traybot arm

any pictures of your current design would be helpful to give you more specific help, but also remember that compression is important to pick up cubes

What do you mean a single gear intake? Do you mean a single sprocket? If so, I would recommend you to double sprocket intakes, with chain in between them to grip the cubes and make a pivot point using a screw joint or a hinge to flip it down. Have something hold it in, but have something release it.

That is a “chintake” and they use double sprockets as well, staggered. You drive it with a motor, and (i was using chain in that photo) use gears to drive the front one, with a ratio.
