Help with USB-serial controller

Hi, I have the ROBOTC programing kit and have used it successfully before.
Now, when I try to install the driver on it, I get a message saying “A service installation section in this INF is invalid”. I am using the cable supplied by VEX Robotics.

Any help would be great.

The solution to this problem was to uninstall any old drivers and ROBOTC software, upgrade to the latest version of ROBOTC, and reinstall the latest USB-to-Serial drivers.

Yes, I tried that and then some, but NOTHING worked. I had to re-install windows to fix it.
