Since the new Hexbugs use VEX IQ pieces, can they be used in competition?
Yes, they are legal, however there are some small exceptions. Let’s take a look at the Highrise Game Appendix, specifically <R6d>
Thus you can use all mechanical pieces (beams, shafts, pins, etc.) from the VEX Robotics by Hexbug product line, however you cannot use any electrical components (motors, sensors, etc.).
