right i want to build a first of its kind vex/ duct tape boat use vex as a super structer and the tape to make it water tight as the saying goes if you can make a full size duct tape boat that flots im sure i can make vex float

I wouldn’t. If your electronics touch water, well, it’s going to be expensive.
Maybe try making something like an x drive, or an H drive. Perhaps try making a robot with suspension system that can climb up obstacles.

Ok and I all ready am making a bit with suspension but it’s sat in school I was working with @RNA

The fifth wheel on the h-drive allows the bot to move sideways and diagonally. The x-drive can do the same, but quicker.

Yeah. I am still trying to figure out cad. Keep working to keep yourself alive. You can do it. I built a prototype out of a vex IQ kit and trash I had around the house. Do whatever works for you.

An Hdrive would save motors for other features. It would also be a bit less complex even thou the Xdrive would look cooler.

Looking cool is one of the things you shouldn’t be concerned about. For example, putting a plate (with @Zeldaa’s drawings on it) in the place a c-channel is supposed to go, may look a little better, but it lacks structural support. Dont use something just because it looks cool, use things that are better.

This boi is the M1128 MGS. Not a great vehicle in real life IIRC, but man does it look sharp. What if you tried making an 8 wheeled APC, and if you want a bit more of a challenge, make it with suspension? Making an armored fighting vehicle out of VEX parts has been something I’ve wanted to do ever since I joined VEX.
