Me and my team have been thinking about game strategy and have figured that we would first score on a mogo (mobile goal) and then try to go for the wall stakes. The complication comes when we think about how we would be able to hold onto a mogo and still be able score on the Wall Stakes. I’ve seen multiple teams that can both score on mogos and score on wall Stakes, but none of them have been able to score on the Wall Stakes while still holding the mogo. This Video is an example, and they mention in their explanation video that they can’t score on the Wall Stakes while holding the mogo.
I’m wondering if anyone has found a way around this problem or if they have seen a robot that was able to perform this task. Let me know if you have video links or ideas. Thanks!
Don’t spend your time wondering. Spend your time brainstorming. There are plenty of ways to score on the wagos while holding a mogo. There are even some on YouTube (hint MARC).
I would like to make a motion to get mogo, wago, higo, and alligo added to official terminology.
It really depends on what you are trying to do to score on a wall stake. If you are using a lift, just make sure the lift doesn’t get in the way of a mobile goal. This robot found here has a lift that can both score on wall stakes and hold a mobile goal due to the lift not moving in the way of the mobile goal unlike the video you mentioned.
Two intakes is the simplest option
This was a reveal from pretty early one that we have taken a lot of inspiration from, https://youtu.be/ekBqCvwiN5w?si=d8Y0JfrlrULdU9Yv
The key is to have the mobile goal held on the back of the bot and have the intake on the front move up to the wall stake.
This does come with a small disadvantage of not being able to use expantion for the mobile goal mech but we have that mech figured out already and think it worth it.
