Does anybody have a good hold program. My team needs one

Do you have a sensor attached to know when /how much to hold?
If not you have to go with the classic 15 power to hold an arm in place
I just have a limit switch that, when triggered, sets the power to 0. It is triggered when the lift is all the way down. Otherwise, the power is set to whatever my button input tells the robot, or 30 power (to hold objects up, as the rubber bands and resistance of 8 motors hold the lift up on its own when it is empty). No need for complication with quadrature encoders; I like to do minimal programming.
