Holding Chamber VEX IQ Slapshot

Hi everyone,
I’m having some difficulty making a holding chamber for my double shooter. Our shooter works fine. It’s just that whenever a disc slides down into the chamber, it consistently gets jammed. Any tips? Here are some images.

Many teams have found success in using plastic sheets molded around a disk for their holding chambers. I haven’t tried it myself, but it seems to be a good fix for this problem. This video shows what I mean. Hope this helps!

Just like drumroll says! our robot uses plastic sheets and it almost never jams.

Bonus points for having a driver ON the robot!

I wanted to buy the plastic sheets, however they are out of stock.

In that case, along the hopper (which I assume you are building), teams have found great success with using flaps that can rotate freely and bars along the hopper to slow down and re-orient the disks to be flat. This video from Austin Sus shows such flaps and bars in use.

Now, I’m not sure if this is the best idea, but it might be worth being tested. I have thought about using standoffs as the magazine and placing them in a round formation, mimicking that of the disk. I have no idea if it would work, but it might be something your team finds value in trying. Hope this helps!
