I built a goal out of foam board so that I could test a robot at home. My school’s robotics room won’t be open the whole summer, and I wanted to have something to use while it’s closed without needing to buy a field. It took about an hour, and it’s not perfect, but it’s pretty close! If anyone else has a similar situation, this could be a good option to work over the summer!
I’ll include pictures and a video, but I’m new to the forum so I’m not entirely sure how to do that.
First off, Welcome to the forums! Depending on what device you use you can just push at the bottom of the screen the button below in the picture, then push “photo library” and click desired image. That is for a phone, not really sure how to use it on a computer but I hope this helps!
If you cannot post photos, you’re a basic user. Try surfing the forum and contributing to conversations to achieve the member rank. You cannot post videos on the forum unless it is a link (ex., YouTube videos). I like the innovative and dedicated mind you have to try something like this, as it reminds me of myself in the High Stakes season. You could build the other goals too, as the dimensions are in the back of the game manual. Best of luck!
It’s not quite as long as a normal goal, but it’s better than no goal! I didn’t think to build the center goals though, that could be fun! I did use the game manual to get it as close as I could, but for stability, I didn’t make it exactly the same.
The only problem is, it’s definitely not as strong as a robot, so it takes a bit of a beating.
I’m also planning on bringing this to competitions, so I can test any adjustments I make without needing to go to the practice fields. That’s not always a viable option at big competitions like Rumble in the Rockies, where there’s a long line to get in and you might not get there between matches!
