So that is were our number went. Our team used to be 118 and 181. Keep it going strong!

Hey, this is 4252A. We left a battery and chargers at the charging station. Is there anyway you guys can hold on to these until Galveston? Thanks. (They are labeled “4252A”.

Also, good job everyone. Saw some pretty neat robots. All I know is that we need to prevent ours from flipping backwards :P.

We picked up a few during clean up. I’ll look for your team number tomorrow. Come by the 3847 table at Galveston and we should be able to get them to you.

The Rankings and Videos are up, our photos are on their way.

I’d just like to congratulate 231 for placing in the top four spots!!! You guys had some amazing robots and you blew my mind!
Looking forward to seeing you at Galveston:D

There were many good robot designs early in the season. Here are my favorite designs,
231 - Pasadena - all 5 of these robots were very fast at scoring!

1429B - Galena Park - very simple and effective

4252A - Pastoral Invasion - awesome corner omni drivetrain

4128A - Vulcan - innovative way to pick up sacks.

I’ve put up a more ordered set of videos if people are interested.

Andrew,

These are some great videos! Thanks for sharing them.

I noticed that there was no white electrical tape places on the field. Was this just because there were no robots with line follower kits?
The reason I’m interested is because I am curious as to how some of these intakes will preform with the tape on the ground. I am worried that people forget about it. If your intake starts tearing up the tape then you’re sure to be stopped and DQ’d. Was there any issues like this during the competition (I wasn’t sure if you had the tape on another field)?

Thank you Thank You Thank You for sharing these videos. The matches look amazing.

Before the first matches of the league on October 6, all teams were asked if they were going to do any line following. There was no robot with line following sensors on them and no plans to add them, so the decision was made not to put the white tape down. This saved a lot of time in set up for all four legs of the league tournament. I do expect to see it on the field for the Houston VEX competition on December 1.

I have watched every match up close, and I have not seen any robot that is that close to the ground that would have interfered with the tape.

That match made me very nervous :stuck_out_tongue: (as you can see by the clumsy driving) but ended up being very fun and intense. 231C seriously gave us a hard time.
Galveston was great and the organizers did an awesome job (even going way ahead of schedule). I enjoyed getting so many matches in and we are hoping to get rid of all the kinks by finals.

I’d say the biggest contenders from what I’ve seen are 231C and 1429B. Can’t wait to see all of you at the championship.

I’ve seen a lot of examples in past seasons where intakes and drives have gotten caught on the tape and dragged it across the field. If I recall correctly, none of the robots involved were penalized.

we are up and running tomorrow with the live webcast of houston vex league finale ! 231B will most likely qualify for worlds as the top seed based on the current rankings . stay tuned !

Results are posted on the Houston VEX League website:

Official Robotevents tournament data is also udpated on Houston League Robotevents site

We will have photos and youtube videos of Eliminations soon thanks to Roll24 Productions for streaming the competition.

Congrats to the tournament champions, the #4 alliance, 1412C (Road Hazards) and 4128A (Vulcan Robotics)
Also, congrats to 231C (Pasadena) for qualifying as the #1 seed !
