Our team wants to have the best interview possible. We have the rubric already, but the people on here have so much more experience than us, so how do we have the best interview ever, and what are some questions they ask in a VEX world interview?
My advice is to be confident, don’t talk over each other, and just be nice. Present your best self. Last year I had my first worlds interview and it was decent but there are areas to improve on. Just try your best.
Another thing to do is make sure each person has a topic, and they know it well. For example, who will be saying what special features your bot has and how it helps.
This server has people who are willing to help with Interview and Notebook and there are multiple teams here that have won Exellence and desighn at their regional championships, Signature events and Worlds.
but in general:
-Make sure discussion is split between all temaates so that everyone is contributing
-makesure you budjet your time so that you get all questions answered. they will usually tell you how mnay questions they will give and the time limit
-be sure to explain how each component is related to others and not just them as individual entities. ie. explain how progrmain helps build and driving and how build implmetation of
- dont just say things like “we use PID”, “we use ODOM”, “we use a Gnatt chart” make sure you explain it and at least show that you know what those tools are used for and that you know how to properly impliment. not that your just dropping buzzwords to get some extra ruberic points. I can tel lyou personally so many temas jsut use these buzzwords without explianing and i dont give them much points for it. Or even better if its a second interview you ask them if they know the math/idea behind it and alot of them cant even tell you what the P I and D variables stand for. so dont be that team.
best of luck at worlds
There are also the rubric amd sample questions they have avaliable online. Have answers ready for ones you know they will ask like how did you build the robot?
