So our team built a catapult bot and we use rubber bands to launch the triball and motors to set it back down. But when the catapult is all the way up we fall over easily, and the motors aren’t strong enough to hold the arms still in one spot. I have a temporary fix just to start the game with to keep it down, but once the arm goes down it unlocks (this is intentional) but I cant lock it back. Does any one know a way I can lock the arm where I can lock and unlock it whenever I want. Here is a pic of the bot.
@Maddox_Heaton I believe what you are looking for is a ratchet, this allows the gear to turn in one way only until it hits the shaved part and the rubber bands pull it back here, here, and here are some examples to get you started. Looking on YouTube is probably your best source for ideas on this dilemma or you could look on Vex Forums for other topics or the same concern. Hope this helps!

If you’re tipping over, that means your center of gravity is really bad, you should add more pieces to the opposite side of the catapult.
