Well i have never broken one before, but did it come out of the connecter or the actual sensor? If it came out of the sensor im guessing that the soldering would leave some residue where it use to be and solder it back there if it broke out of the connecter then the easiest way might be to cut it off and rewire a extension cable onto it. Tell me how you do it, if you do.
It is broken at the actual sensor.

same happened to me, i just bought another sensor
i just found out how were to re solder it and it did not work
it has to be a certain distance to create a spark activating the sensor.
It is not physically possible to do by humans. or at least professionals.
Isn’t a bumper switch just a button?
no a bumper switch has a curcuit board and a connection that is not completed
entill the bumper is pressed in.
In other words a button.
Greetings;
I had the red wire come out of one of my bumper switches. So I took the other one apart to see a good one. The Red wire IS NOT USED in the bumper switches. It’s just pushed in and bent up to keep it out of the way.
I put mine back together with the red disconnected and they both work.
By the way, has anyone seen a good closeup pic of the advertisement bot so I can attempt to build it. I can see it’s not based on squarebot but I cant see the design of the arm clearly. My pic is way too small, and I’d like another angle too.
I kind of figured it out when another 1 came out and it still worked lol
It happened on both of my bumper switches, so i opened up the switch and discovered that on the switch, the red wire is not attached to anything, it is just put in the for “looks”. So what i did was just pulled up the board, pulled it in, and screwed the circuit board down right on top of the unused wire. The reason that i knew it was unused, because after looking at where the other wires were connected to the board, there was a glob of solder and and all there were on the circuit board were 2 globs, so i knew that the wires were never attached to anything on the actual circuit board.
mine too…
well i just need to re solder 1 on cause i actually removed a working 1 this time and it needs to be re soldered. Also just realized my first post was in here.
